Did you try disecting any of the carcasses, that would tell you for certain if it is an internal parasite.

The only thing that has worked for internal parasites for me (I have only had one problem with it), was Levamisole HCl.

My parasite was camellanus, which is a red nematode.

That is duckweed, it is easy to grow, and will literally take over a tank.

Actually he should be fine. Ancistrus are easily sexable and a male will, in 99% of the cases, tolerate a female. If I were him I would definitly get a partner for his, as they should be easy to breed and they are a cool pleco.

My LFS which always stocks cool fish says they are getting these in. I looked them up in the cat-e-log and it does not have a picture or info.

Is this fish rare and are they most likely getting them in or another fish mislabeled?

I bought 13 of these fish to try and breed them.
One died quickyl and the others are doing great.

However all of them are females.

I recently picked up a big pair of bristlenose and have the tank conditions perfect except for I do not know what temp. would be best to keep them at in order to breed them.

I realize they will not breed for awhile as they are still settling in, I got them a week ago, and they are eating zucchini ...

In the entire batch, 13 of them, there appears to be 2 species, 12 of one and 1 of the other.

The fish in the COTM article does not look like mine that much, I must have been wrong on ID, mine are greyer and have huge mouths.

It looks more like the 2nd pic in the article.

I have not gotten a good pic of these yet, but to me they look like L187A. I bought 5 from the LFS for $4 apiece and I think I am going to go back and buy the rest today.

For now they are in a 10g quarantine tank temp 78 moderatly hard water, no nitrates, ammonia etc.
