I think all fish like fresh water in the tank as long as it doesn't change the water perameters. But if you have wild or skittish fish they may hate it because it stresses them out.
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the fungus was all gone and i was ready to put them in there main tank... of course 1 had to get sick along with a cory that was in the tank with it, And the real problem i have no clue whats up with them. the cory lost half the scales on one side of his body and his fins are ...
Thanks, i may try the salt if this every happens again. I read that whiptails hate salt and it can hurt them but who knows. Luckily the rest of the fish seem fine.
The gravel that there on only takes up a small part of the tank near the front, the rest is fine sand
I couldnt find the one msafdel recomended so i got Rid-ich plus. Fishstore recomended it as thats what they use. Put in the recomended amount. Theres no phisical changes i see, eyes are good and belly looks flat and the fungus is still there.
If this guy dies what should i do with the others ...
... Not a good week so far. The infection on his head didn't get any worse which is a good thing, but i started treating with meds a few days ago and now hes lying on the bottom of the tank upside down. Still breathing, still moving but i don't know what to do. was i to late?
thanks, ill try both of your guys suggestions, the gravel he is sitting on is only the front of the tank, theirs a large sand area they normally hang out on
just as im about to put them in the main tank i see this... is it a fungus? if so how should i treat it, theirs also 3 others in the tank should i keep them in there?
pretty sure blue eyed royals and Venezuelan blue eye's are the same species. Colombian is the different one i believe. theirs articles with pics on the site so i would read those/try and look for differences between them
ive never heard of L10 a or anything really being sensitive to prazi. hypoxia maybe but no other fish are dead or dying. every other fish is fine... even breeding. i would think the wild L200 would die of hypoxia before the captive L10a's but maybe there really sensitive to that sorta thing. i found ...
woke up to all but one of my L10a's dead. i water changed the day before and put in some prazipro but they have never shown weakness to meds. (my green phantom and a few bristle nose were looking like they had parasites) none of the L10a's had sunken belly's or white poop though, i cut open 2 of the ...
sorry for the lat reply... hope there not gone yet. red lizards are really easy to keep, there not to sensitive to anything but still keep them in as clean water as possible. I've breed them before but i forget what size, maybe 3.5 inches or something close. you will know when there ready to breed ...
thanks for the reply's, i think ill wait till all the eggs are gone before i treat the tank just in case. Mr.L200 dosnt look to be getting worse so im in little rush... even though he was expensive as hell!
one last question, whats the difference between Flubendazol, Metroniadazole and prazipro ...
i have never seen any white poop in the tank... ill try to find some flubendazol so i can treat the whole tank instead of tearing the whole thing apart to catch 1 fish. do you know if flubendazol kills eggs? my other plecos and angel fish are spawning at the moment.
I've got a L200 with a pretty sunken belly. I've had him for 6ish months now and he eats fine but his belly is still small. every other fish in the tank is fine and when i got him i treated him with metroplex. i can get pics if needed, so... any ideas!
there are some white spots on my L200 on his head and pectoral fin. he had a spot on his side bit it went away in a few days but they have come back now. they are slightly raised non symmetrical and to big to be ich. ill try to get a pic of him but hes wild caught and never comes out in light
