Re: S/A biotope
Thank you very much for the positive comments. I still want to make more improvements here and there. I think it needs more leaves and some of the wood can be moved around a bit. I have turned off my large powerhead due to the little Hypselecara temporalis (chocolate cichlid) that likes to hide by ...

Re: S/A biotope
yes, apistogramma borelli. I noticed your screen name and thought I should mention them. I recieved a group of 6 from a fellow hobbyist/breeder. I'd like to believe the severums and silver dollars wouldn't bother them. I did add a very small chocolate cichlid recently which would possibly be the ...

Re: S/A biotope
ha ha ha, yes very true. I dare not put anything in here I wish to get back anytime soon. My first mistake was tossing in an UID'd pleco...
I may possibly rearrange the wood a little more vertically on the right to open up some substrate in the middle. I'm growing out some borelli to add as well.

S/A biotope
Behold, a dream tank I've been hoping to get running for some time now. The biotope is reflective of a root snag in a blackwater stream.

Re: bought as a galaxy *PICS NOW
I did notice the resemblance to L204 in the body shape, especially the head and tail. The spotting is slightly different than the pics of other LDA31's on the clog, as far as size/spacing/quantity. Thanks for all your help so far, I will attempt to catch it and get an open mouth pic.

I know, we're looking for spoon shaped teeth... The absence of tentacles rules out ancistrus right? Or am I still reaching?

Re: bought as a galaxy *PICS NOW
I wish I could tell you right now. I know the mouth is small, you can see that in the pics (#1, #3). As far as mouthparts go, I can't produce pics of those right now.

Re: bought as a galaxy
Thanks for the replys. Definitely not adonis, not a Leporacanthicus cf_galaxias(l007) , which is what I assumed it was by name alone. The suggestion of Panaque albomaculatus is probably a winner. I waited in front of my tank an hour for it to come out of the shadows with no luck. If at all possible ...

bought as a galaxy *PICS NOW
I bought this pleco as a galaxy pleco. I can't get good pics as of now or any pics that will be sufficient enough for an ID. The Fish is in my 120g that is 2/3 driftwood.
aside from the common "galaxy" traits such as black w/ white spots, I can only give you my best description. So here goes ...

looks like striped rapheal but has a dark belly rather than creamy white. Out of the smaller striped doradids, similar to Platydoras Costatus is it likely Acanthodoras spinosissimus? I'll look again to see if it's belly is mottled, prob take a picture...

A little update; I still have this guy. He must be close to 3 years old now. He has propped himself into a spot where I can see him everyday. He's eating a lot, still looks the same as the pics posted here. I can try to get more pics for this thread and hopefully get an ID or possibly use the pic ...

questions and comments welcome!
This tank still needs more wood and the plants need to grow out a little. The orange heads need to move out also. It's a tit bit overstocked.
