Both tanks have the same aquaclear filter with a pre-sponge on the intakes. Both receive the approximately the same amount of food. I guess as suggested, the consistency of the poop must be different and one is being picked up by the filter.
There's really nothing wrong here, it's just a little ...

L046 vs L333 digestive observations
My L333's produce considerable waste. My L046's produce very little waste. Number and size of fish are very close. Amount of food given is the same. Each has same size bare bottom tank. It's a head scratcher as to the lack of waste on the L046's. They eat real good. Anyone else notice this?

Re: Sturisomatichthys aureus (royal farlowella) spawning/raising help
They probably were not quite ready to hatch. Maybe another day or two. When it's time they will hatch very easily. For mine, on the 6th day of incubation I used a scraper and scraped them into a net and then transferred them to a dish of water, then barely touched them and they hatched.

I hear comments about Repashy all the time but don't know much about it. Can you please tell me what you use and where to find it?
This can be purchased online from many sources, but the main source is https://www.store.repashy.com/by-product-type-en/fish-food-gels/

Re: How often should i provide food for my L397 group?
Affording your plecos the opportunity to get to the food before other community fish get to it , or before it gets down into the gravel is key. I keep my smaller plecos in bare bottom tanks without any other community fish. You will be able to see exactly how they are eating and be able to clean up ...

When the eggs are ready to hatch the dad gently nibbles on the eggs to hatch them. If you pull them, you will have to do that more than likely. It don't take much manipulation. I can see how netting them would cause them to hatch if they were ready.

Re: Best way to grow out fry
I'm sorry, I think I used the term "fry" too loosely. The fry I'm talking about are ones that I've bought to raise up for future breeding, all of which came in to me at about an inch long.
On the L046, growth rates have varied. They all hang out together and it appears that the small ones are ...

Best way to grow out fry
I'm seeking advise on feeding pleco fry so that they grow out quickly. I don't think that I'm feeding aggressively enough or perhaps I'm not feeding them the right things. I'm trying to grow out L333's, L046's, and L134's and it seems like it's taking forever. I'm afraid to feed too much meaty foods ...

Re: Sturisomatichthys aureus (royal farlowella) spawning/raising help
I have spawned them successfully. Look up their incubation time in days and scrape them off the glass just before they should hatch. Put the eggs in a shallow dish with water and gently rub them with your fingers and they will hatch. It's really cool! I then went down to my local pond and got some ...
