OK, as of today I just checked on her and the black on her "snout" seems to be receding, and looks more like the first pic, about halfway to that good you know?
She didn't eat the zucchini round I put in for her last night, but she's been munching on the driftwood, and there are lots of poops to ...

Thanks for replying :)
It's really strange isn't it? I've never seen anything like it before, with the half-black face
I got a better look at her fins yesterday as she was out and about the tank and I was watching quietly, and when flared her caudal fin actually does look normal, so that ...

Sick Bristlenose :(
My bristlenose has what appears to be the beginnings of fin rot - meaning black on the edges of her fins and also half of her "snout" part of her face has turned dark :? Her caudal fin has begun to look a little bit ragged at the end, but you really have to look and it's hard to tell because it's ...

Hello Metallhd, and thank you for the welcome :) I see we are from the same city!
I bought him from Big Al's on tuesday, he was the only one they had and was actually mixed in with some Rhino Plecs, unlabelled. A new employee had spotted him when they were doing their rounds of the store, getting ...

Picky Bristlenose?
I bought a new bristlenose a couple of days ago, and he hasn't touched the algae wafer I've put in with him in Quarantine (no algae in the Q-tine tank) :?: I've left it in for a full 24 hours now, and will take it out tomorrow morning before it starts to go bad if he hasn't touched it by then.
It ...

Natural habitats do look a LOT better, I agree! I'm sure they are more soothing for the fish as well. I've actually just switched my 48 long tank from horrid neon plastic decor to the natural look of river rocks, plants, etc over the last 3 months :) It looks beautiful now.

if you remove the castle and that awful gravel, but add a big piece of wood, some pottery or a nice 1-2" PVC-pipe, it'll do much better.
Guys, it's a QUARANTINE tank :P It's ugly cuz it's made up of left over odds and ends that I had lying around lol The main tank is all natural looking, full of ...

The Q-tine tank is bare bottom for easy maintenance, I have no sand or other substrate that I could cover the bottom with :( I do have a dolphin polyresin cave like thing that he could hide in, tho. I will put that in for him right now. There is also an anubias plant in there that he likes to hide ...

Bristlenose/Clown Pleco cross...?
Hi Guys, I just recently bought a bristlenose pleco. I named his Francisco :) He is currently in the QT tank, and I gave him some algae covered river rocks to munch on from the main tank, and an algae tablet.
The reason I am posting is because he doesn't look like any other bristlenoses I have ...
