Well, you can't keep the bichir in that size tank for too long. The bichir can get over a foot long...

I used to keep many, but they have been replaced, along with most of my fish tanks last couple of years by a brand new, life long(I hope) hobby called a wife.

From experience when I was much younger and eager for tank busters, a red tail WILL outgrow a 125 in one year if properly kept for.

Tigers are even worse. They are easily spooked and a sub adult specimen can break a glass tank if he is motivated.(thankfully that did not happen)

oh, it's about a guy, through some hand jesturing, makes his 4 fancy tail gold fish swim synchronously.

So I took pity for a 2 inch Syn ocellifer hiding behind a filter tube 4 month ago in the LFS. After release, he/she promptly disappeared under some hollow plastic tree stump.

I moved that stump yesterday, and out swim this 7 inch fat monster of a fish :shock:

koi might be okay if they are large enough; but with in a year, a catfish such as a channel cat will eat all your goldfish.

Yesterday I was cleaning my Eheim filter and found 3 1 inch long S. Multi swimming around in it. I keep 9 adult S. Multis with my Mbunas. Since Mbunas are not really good carriers for S. multis, I mainly keep the multis around for the love of catfish and never thought of them spawning.

How many of them could I put in the tank of that size, given that I am only going to purchase one or the other.
