Re: Help with Royal Pleco
Ok so Hank (pooper) is not happy with me , but I did get a chance to treat Hank today. Something rubbed off of Hank today when I went to treat him, but I think there is still a little healing… so I am hopeful he/she will be ok.

Help with Royal Pleco
Hello everyone, it has been awhile! Happy New Year! I hope this is the right forum. My Royal Pleco came out of its cave today to eat and I noticed this white puffy thing on it. Might it be an injury or fungal problem? I have Melafix and Primafix on hand but did not want to be hasty without getting s...

I have to say off hand they don't necessarily look like L340, can you get a pic of a male frontal shot? ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif)

Larry,
Thanks for sharing your experience... I will have to take out all of the caves except for my three males, what you said totally makes sense and if nothing else it is worth a shot!!![A OK!](./images/smilies/icon_thumbsup.gif)

Re: Male or female L134?
All of my females stay in the caves for the most part unlike some of my hyps. The only easy way to tell my males from females are the very fuzzy tails as Matt mentioned above. I have heard of others claim to have had females with some fuzziness, but not nearly as fuzzy as the males get. I have some ...

Re: Sexing L204: help needed
I had a nice group of these, they all had odontadotes on the cheeks and similar body shape, the only way we could tell the sex is that the males had very fuzzy tail region and the females did not. ![A OK!](./images/smilies/icon_thumbsup.gif)

Re: Actually L260?
Here is a pic of one of my juveniles (not a juvie anymore) that I also got from Barbie (years ago)... Some of the fry that were bred from my L260 looked like the picture in the auction. Their patterns are very variable, but undeniable. :D http://www.planetcatfish.com/images/full/loricariidae/hypanci...

Hello!
I personally would not put them in a tank that small, or maybe would have 1. I was breeding in a 20g long and I think that was pushing it, IMO...

As was said above, a macro is VERY helpful but along with that is definitely A LOT of patience and a large memory card...lol... I agree that you take a lot of pictures and pick out the very best! Patience, patience, patience. Everyonce in awhile you get lucky and snap and click and get a perfect pic...

Barbie, I have had mine for over a year and a half and they were at least 2"+ when I got them, mine look more like his at this point still, but do not look near as big as yours. Do you know how long it took for yours to get that size or were they already full grown when you got them? Here is a ...

Re: Please find out what i am
I agree from this angle and coloring/lighting... It does not look as much like a L199, but it appears the picture has been edited to lighten it up or something so I really am not convinced enough to give opinion either way. Though Dr. Gold presents a very fair observation. ![Razz ](./images/smilies/icon/razz.gif)

The patterning and coloring remind me of a L199, but it would be nice to see a better shot of the head to make sure. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif)
