I wouldn't think that 1 inch diameter pvc pipes as breeding caves would be sufficient. They may be able to fit right now b...

Hello, I was reading on another forum that Hikari puts MSG in their food... I can't help but wonder if it could be the MSG making them bloated, it makes some people bloated by causing them to retain water and it gives me a headache and makes me very thirsty.... *shrugs* Something to think about. Try...

Phew, I was panicking. They look quite a bit different than the L318 that I have. Then again, mine were purchased as L333, which they also were not. I'll be REALLY glad when there's a definitive picture reference with characteristics to differentiate between all of these. Barbie They are not L260??...

They are L260 Queen Arabesque. The first one doesn't look so hot(stressed I'm sure)! The "spotted" belly is not necessarily indicative of the L number but it has been said that PERHAPS it could help identify sex (not with 100% accuracy however). You can check out the Cat-elog here on this ...

Thanks for the replies. Barbie, this is one of the fish from the batch we were trying to identify but I don't think it was pictured, at least not at this angle. It is approx. 4inches or so. I wasn't sure what sex it was because it seemed broad in the head to me but I know that's not always a good wa...

Hello, bought this baby as an L236b (which most would say it's not, I'm not too terribly worried about it as it is very beautiful) but I am wondering if perhaps you kind folks can help me get a gender. Thank you!

Thank you for your posts. They are in a 55g with PLENTY of caves and hiding places. Like I said in my first post, this behavior is odd, not something that occurs on a daily basis. We will continue to keep an eye on them. It has been about a week since that video was shot and none of them are dead no...

Usually only the males get the pattern on the belly and t...

I'm not an expert at identifying these fellows gender... but I think most would tell you the most helpful thing in sexing these puppies is to look at them from above... it's all in the shape of the head/body. So if you are trying to get pics, try to get a bird's eye view. HTH :D
