L201 vs. Hypancistrus Contradens?

In the Cat-e-log it lists L201 as hypancistrus contradens, but L-Welsehttp://translate.google.ch/translate?u= ... e&ie=UTF-8 lists them as two separate hypancistrus?

Re: Need help with my Bristlenose pl*co

Having kept a lot of bristle noses, I find it highly doubtful that your 10g tank would produce enough algae to keep a healthy bn fed. They don't eat all types of algae (I am wondering what type of algae you have in your 10g), and I wondering if you should be supplementing the little guys diet with s...

Re: Bristlenose very protective re his food

Also, I have kept over 20 species of plecos/catfish in a multitude of different setups and tank sizes and have noticed that generally, the frequency as well as the intensity of the feeding time aggression TENDS to be lessoned or aggrevated depending on the decor. If the size of the tank is appropria...

Okay then. just keep keeping them until they spawn? :?: Generally, they will breed around 10 - 15 months of age given the correct conditions. There are plenty of articles out there on how to breed ancistrus that pretty much fully explain the process. A good one here on Planet Catfish on bree...

Maybe she's just happy! Once mine got settled in the tank you can see them out and about (the females more so than the males). That's great you got to take some good pics! :D She doesn't have any stress bars so I sure wouldn't worry about her! :D

I absolutely agree that it is possible that they are probably doing it to eachother... or poor water quality. If you've ever at night seen what they do when they are scrapping you would know that they use their odontadotes to scrap and get in a ying in yang type position and can practically shred th...

I personally would not put six adults in a 29 gallon nor a 30 gallon long. Even though they are generally peaceful, males are territorial. I (IMO) would put no more than 3 or so... Beautiful fish, goo luck!!!

I have five. Two males and three females. Actually, they all stay in the cave. Both of the males have the "bristles" on their caudal peduncle (back by their caudal fin).

Are your females looking gravid?

IMO, If there is plenty of cover for the plec to hide then it may be okay (I have some in with my breeding angels)... I still hesitate at keeping them together however because whenever the angels have a batch of eggs/fry they get absolutely viscous and if they see the plec in sight they attack it an...

Syno Eupterus or Hybrid???

I've had this Syno for approximately two years or so and got it as a eupterus (along with a couple others that are a different kind that were identified recently as potential hybrids which were supposed to have been shoutadeni), anyway now that they are older... am looking for all of your thoughts.....
