I do see at least 1 female and 1 male. The others are kind of hard to tell so I won't even bother to give you a percentage. Also, the picture quality is poor making it harder to tell.

I don't understand. The first pic is a picture of the fry back in January 2006 at probably 7/8 days old.
The second picture is of the same fry (no longer fry), now 2.5 years old taken September 29, 2009.

Re: L46 and L260 Strange Behavior
Hi, thanks for sharing the information.
But I was kind of wondering as I read, because it's impossible to tell if a fry is a zebra or Queen when then are 7/8 days old. No distinct pattern will have developed yet (unless they are 2 or 3 weeks older than you though).
Anyway, just a point from my own ...

Hello,
Haven't post here for a long time, but one of my "kind-of" local shipping store have a couple of Panaque suttonorum for sale. They are said to be pickup from Colombia. But I don't think he bought it from the fish exporter as he's been know to make collection expedition to South America ...

Hi, did you do the water changes with your first batch as well? I don't know why but even though my test kits says it's 0 ammonia, 0 nitrate and 0 nitrite but the fry still dies. But with frequent water changes, I only get 1 or 2 deaths.

Pleco Breeding question
Hi,
I've been fairly successful in breeding plecos. I have this nagging question in my head, but have any one notice that it's alot easier to breed pleco in groups of 5 or 6 than it is to breed them as a pair?
They don't even have to be of the same species.
I am just wondering about this is true ...

I notice that mine likes to graze on the tank glass for algae and recently I saw it grazing on my piece of driftwood exactly the way my clown pleco are grazing on the wood. This leads me to wonder if it eats wood as part of it's diet as well.

That's a pretty rediculous price for an Albino BN. Maybe if it was a veil tail BN. An albino veil tail might go for up to $35.
Here in Toronto you can get one for around $6 - $8 at that size. I used to breed the normal BNP. But I stop doing it because I have to break my back changing water just to ...

I don't think being captive breed have anything to do with it. Some wild zebras just carries a broken line pattern in their genes.ubgone wrote:I've heared that if you breed L46 at home(captivity) then the patterns of the fish will be ugly and distorted...

L173 and L046 not the same.
Hi Can I ask why the L173 is cataloged in the same page as the L046? To me they are definately different in terms of body patterns and the tail patterns already set them appart.
Just curious ... or was the picture of the L173 inaccurate?
