I've got a tank with 3 ancistrusses in it and everything goed on very very well!

But, i just heard that 3 ancistrusses in my tank might be too much because of possible fights between them.

I've got a 60x30x38 cm tank. But, i have lots and lots of hiding places and caves.

Mine can change within 3 minutes or so.. and it looks like camouflage to me..

when he hides in his self-made 'home' in my mopani-wood he is completely black (ofcourse, he has some with dots on his body as every ancistrus) and when he is browsing the tank on my stones he has the marks.. so it really ...

My male ancistrus just seems alright to me too!

He is eating a lot.. he just loves cucumber!

And it looks very good and happy! always together with my other two ancistrusses!

My male ancistrus has sometimes with spots/marks on his body.. this is very weird..

The one time he is completely dark brown (with little light spots) and the other time, he is brown with lots of light marks on his body..

How can this happen? Has this something to do with hiding and camouflage or ...

That ridge in the face what you are talking about.. how can i see it? (i'm not that good in seeing those things).. perhaps you can copy one of my pictures and color the ridge red or something?

Here are the sizes of the ancistrusses:

Zwoelie (no 1): about 7 or 8 cm

Yellow (no 2): about 6 cm

Ciske (no 3): about 4 or 5 cm

Ciske is starting to get some bristles on his nose. But still very very small and i heard that some females can have that too ...

This is my new little catfish! I have her for 2 weeks now (at least.. they sold me the catfish for a she ;) i always find it hard to tell if it's a female or male when they are young!).

I have bought her for an ancistrus, but actually, i'm not quite sure that she is!
