Second catfish species caught in Panama
My friend caught this bad boy with a cast net, in a different stream and different part of Panama. It was the only one caught, so we let it go.
Wonder what it was? Anyone??

Catfish that I caught in Panama two weeks ago
I am thinking they might be
Pimelodella chagresi odynea
or something similar. Thoughts?
Barb
PS I caught and brought back from Panama several species of livebearers, these catfish, a goby species, cichlids, 2 species of snails, and one small species of shrimp :)

Nice pics. Will I see some of the fry at a future COAST auction?
But of course! If I can grow the little guys up (always the hardest part with Farlowellas, I will certainly bring my babies to the COAST meeting). Glad to see there is another COAST person here on PlanetCatfish too, nice to meet yah ...

Is the tank next to a window? I did that once as an unknowing newby and had a pea soup tank within a month! If that is a window there, it would seem the eggs are near it. Does this species enjoy light more than other pl*cos? Please forgive me if it sounds like a silly question. I have next to no ...

These are a lovely catfish, I had some along time ago. They hid all day long in the potted plants (mostly swordplants), at night when I dropped in frozen bloodworms or live blackworms, the place went crazy! Then, they hid again, although I assume when lights are out, they are quite active.

Nate,
You can buy a very good worming food online from Florida Guppies plus, he has it in 8 oz and 1 pound bags.
You can email Luis atat [email protected], or Web Page at: FLORIDA GUPPIESPLUS.com
This food will not harm corys, plecos, sensitive fish, or plants, I know, I have used it :)
