outgrowing the tank mmmh... well i was thinking about uprading again anyway in the near future :roll: with an at least 50g tank... (there is a really cheap 155g out there at the moment *drool*)

Well, I think he lived on algae wavers, algae and some left over goldfish foods... and he was kept in a 5 g tank with 2 goldfish... i now have him in my 33g tank, i hope that is enough for him for now

how fast (or slow) is their growth rate? Appearantly the previous owner has had him for 5 years, but he is only 6 inches long. Did the small tank he was kept in slow his growth rate (is that even possible?)? Or should I expect the other inches soon?

I think I now know how he got injured. He was trying to hide during the day and was trying to squeeze himself behind the heater....

I hope it is getting better now as I finally got him a cave yesterday.

Please give me any suggestions of how to treat that injury further..

Thanks, if I would get a second one i'd have to wait a little until I can put the 3 goldfish back outside into the pond, so i can have more tank space for more fish or snails.

Ramshorns need a pH of about 7.5, to keep their shells in good shape. (Shell errotion!)
Waterchanges about once a week should be fine.
What is your tanks temperature?? Ramshorns, just like any other applesnail, like it warm. Some people have them at only 70, some at about 78 Fahrenheit.
