Hi,I have one of these animals ,its a foot long now and still a mild mannered animal.

I've grown it from 2"long in 3 years .I have never seen this animal behave aggressively even when hassled by other fish.

Thanks alot ,yes they are L206 Panaque sp from Peru.I tracked down an Image on a German website which is a good match for them as there is no image here.I will endevour to get some better pics and submit them for use here should you want some.

Hi all, I came home with 2 of these today.They are 3" and 4" in length.these pics were taken just after they went in the tank so they are still a bit pale from traveling.The tank at the fs had Peckoltia sp written on it.when I ask for a L no I got no joy from the assistant.Any ideas?

Without seeing the teeth it looks like Hypancistrus inspector to me, what do the teeth look like and why do you say it's not this species as it sure looks like it to me.
The pics in the archive are of Brown fish with yellow spots or black fish with white spots,this is a black fish with gold spots ...

I cannot say for sure, but this looks very similar to some of the fish that I got with a L201 "Hypancistrus inspector" import. Most of the fish in the shipment showed the more common gold dots, but a few of the "nicer" ones had the red spotting on the upper part of the body. The fish will cross ...
