I agree, pretty common around here. Just ask your LFS to order some Royals, and odds are there will be a few L-191's in there :)

I am thinking of switching over to sand, but am still not sure. My aquarium has lots of current and I am afraid that the sand will never settle. Anyone else know about this. I have already throughly cleaned the sand and have it waiting in buckets, but I am still not sure. Also, how coarse is the &qu...

Wow, that's an awesome idea :D I may have to "steal" it from you. Are those plecos the type that you are going to try to breed? Also, how big are the caves?

The pH in my area is around 8 out of the tap, and I have never had problems with regular plecos. You may have trouble with fancy plecos though (I really don't know which ones though)

I guess that since we are talking about zebras, I will mention my set-up. :D I have a 30 gallon long, that is filled to about 3 inches from the top. It is filtered with an Emporer 400 (I think). I have it set up as a river with 2 Aquaclear 301's on one side and their intakes on the other. I have 9 z...

Thats great that you were able to get captive bred zebras :D I've never tried feeding mine cucumber, but I have ocassionally used algae tablets which they eat, but I don't think they really enjoy them.

I have never had luck with gold nuggets. They are beautiful fish, but I think if I go for another of that color pattern, I will go with a Goldy, plus I like their size :)

I agree, 6.5-7. Although, with zebras, pH really doesn't matter that much. I have heard that they will breed in waters with a pH of 8. The only difference is that the pH MAY have an effect on the "stickyness" of the eggs.

Feeding Suggestions For Plecos In Strong Currents

Just curious if anybody has any suggestions for feeding plecos in strong currents. Food tablets are easy to feed, but really I am talking about bloodworms, brine shrimp etc. I just place it near the bottom and they seem to find it, but I am sure that I lose the majority of the food. Any ideas?

Blue tinge means it is very healthy and happy. :D I'm not sure about the min size for breeding though. In the past, I had heard that it was very difficult to get those types of fish down under, has that changed?
