I've never seen one that is white and black. I've seen about 30 specimans in total.

They charge $79.99 per gold nugget here in Hawaii at the LFS since they are illegal to import. I dont know how they get them in, but they sell quick at that price. I really want some but im not about to pay Zebra pl*co prices for them. So (Hint) if anyone was to accidentally shipped me a package of...

The only thing is possibly an otto, but they like to be in groups. How about something like a gold snail that you see at the LFS, I think that they are called mystery snails.

Thanks - i'll give them a call. we have a 6ft x 2 ft x 2 ft tank with Discus so i thinks a nice goldie will fit in well - lots of bogwood to live in etc.... Do you have plants in there? I kept a goldy with my discus in a 110 gallon, but it kept knocking down my plants (unintentionally, not to eat t...

I'm not sure of the conversion, but those would go for any where from $60 - $100 each here. Of course, its all really about supply and demand.

And the lfs that got these for me says they will take all I can produce. The owner admits not knowing much about them and doesn't believe I can get them to spawn. You didn't happen to pick that pair up on a trip to New Orleans did you? Just curious because I gave an LFS here a pair and noticed they...

Nice pics. I didn't think the Baryancistrus species had been spawned before in captivity. Anyone know of any other captive spawns of the gold nugget types?

Edit: Now I see its not a Baryancistrus species. But still, do these breed in captivity all that often?

Since there bristlenoses, they were probably bred in captivity, so an aquarium set up like the bottom of the amazon would probably be foreign to them. If you really want them to be at home, perhaps you should set up a bare bottom tank ;)

J/K I say go for the amazonian set up! :D

I have had no success with gold nuggets what so ever. I have had success with goldies (L-14). I find these to be even prettier fish, except they do get to be a foot long. I just traded mine into the LFS, as I am in the process of switching over to a planted aquarium, and this fish had a tendency to ...
