I have just bought 4 Tawny glass catfish which according to my Baensch aquarium atlas are the above species. I can't find this species in the cat-e-log or a picture that looks quite right. Can i assume the name I have is out of date?

Just for info, but it is technically illegal to deliberately feed one live fish to another in this country.

They came from Aylesford aquatics and are about the same size as yours. I beleive they got them from Neil Hardy.

As the title says. Four lovely specimens, have spawned twice but the other tank inhabitants ate the eggs. I'm looking for £60 for the group. I can't post I'm afraid so collection only.

It does indeed appear to be Garra flavatra.

Ps Garra Spp are not Characins.

Thanks for that Mats.
He shares the tank with a 4" female ancistrus, an Acanthicus Adonis and a Squaliforma, they all get pleco wafers daily and courgette twice a week plus meaty frozen foods twice a week as well as JMC catfish pellets, so food shoud be alright.
