Anglerfish: Your fish are almost certainly a Baryancistrus sp. (or something closely related), based on the rather large, wide mouth.

Although not great pics, your fish looks very similar to mine and I know mine is a Snowball Plec , I was in an LFS yesterday and they were selling baby (5cm) Snowballs for £8 ( approx $12) mine is apparently fully grown at 15cm

I wish I could find some nice Plecs at those prices in the UK , but as Mat said by the time shipping costs etc are added the prices are out of this world for some species

I have the same thing with my offspring i did manage to sell some to a LFS earlier this year, re Mopani Wood , I have 3 tanks with proper Bogwood and 1 with Mopani wood and Bogwood is covered in bodies but the Mopani wood is totally ignored maybe I spoiled them when they wre wrigglers lol

I never blanch any of the veggies i feed, and i mainly feed zucchini, cucmber, potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, or marrow ( large squash looks like a zucchini) I usually dont have much to remove as i have a horde of Ancistrus sp3 and they can demolish half a cucmber in a few hours,

I have Breeding Ancistrus sp3 proper driftwood not mopani wood is needed for the lignin , also i found feeding some bloodworm or black mosquito larve brings them into breeding mood, plus a water change with slighty cooler than the tank temp will also help , I have a "cave like" ornament which the ...
