I found a pet store that is carrying four San Juan Cories (which I've heard are rare, which shows in their $13.99 each price tag)and I may be planning on getting them.

Anyone here have personal experiences with them? Like are they sensitive? Easy to breed? ect.

I have two Schwartz's (along with 13 other Corydoras) and love them so much I'm hoping to get a few more. They are my most active species of Cory and are not nocturnal at all. My Schwartz's are very out going.

I'm not sure whether a lot of wild cories die as I have very little experience with them.:oops: But I do read that proper quarantine will greatly increased the chances of survival.

That's one of worst tankmates you can get for your cories. Sadz.

IMO, your cories are constantly living under stress, as there is a predator/aggressor lurking around. Any wounds/injuries/infections will be greatly worsen in stressed state, leading to death eventually.

Yeah, a clear sign for a Cory being ill is if he/she does not come out to feed. Everyday I watch all my Cories chow down to make sure none are not eating.

Just keep watching your Cory very closely.... maybe try a water change.....it might spunk him up.

Update:

I'm seeing some growth now. I measured my Coreis last night and here are the results:

One Female Zygatus is 3in.

Two Zygatus Males are 2in.

Four Aeneus are between 1.8 and 2in.

Two Schwartzi are between 1.8 and 2in.

Three Trilineatus are between 1.5 and 1.7in.

One Acrenis is 1.5in ...
