just an update~ my starlights seem to have evicted my rhino from his area under a certian piece of drift wood. these little guys are feisty! i havent seen any fighting persinally and my rhino looks as happy as ever, hes about as laid back as the dude (big lebowski reference) still havent seen anyone...

also i bought this stuff off of aquabid called "sonics pleco power pellets" all of my fish espicially the plecs enjoy it.

believe me it takes alot for me to get discouraged! i will also do whatever it take to keep my sweet plecos as healty as possible.

so rhinos and royals like the zucc as well?

i cut the zucchini in half and then quartered the pieces. so i had 2" pieces about 3/4" thick, dropped two in the tank with the rhino and the l183's. the rhino didnt want anything to do with it, he treated it as an intruder bashing it out of his territory, so i just decided to turn off the...

first off let me apologize to fishlover88 for hijacking your post, sorry.

i get it now, and i totally see why the L#'s are used so frequently, the scientific names are hard to spell and even harder to pronounce! thats gotta be it.

so its the scientific name, not the common name. does the L# drop off when it has been scientificaly identified/classified?

if L numbers are given to "new" undescribed plec's then why is a leopard frog plec a L134? was it just given the name recently? the L# just sticks around, ill bet thats it.

i really appreciate all of your help with this! i got 3 today one male (for sure) and 2 females (not 100% sure!). they already claimed a sweet cave at the other end of the tank from where my rhino stays! i guess they didnt even want to say hi! obviously while in transit from he fish store they look ...

actually the rhino has been very docile as long as ive had him (he live with quite a few cories).

thanks for the info!

i think ill let the store keep them another week or so before i get them. they just came in.

first off hello everyone! i have been researching this board for about 3-4 years now and just found out there was a forum :oops: . i want to put a pair of l183's in a 55g that already houses a full grown rhino pleco. the tank is pretty heavily planted with many varietys of anubis and java fern plant...
