I found a down and dead alder tree in the woods behind the house and just used a saw to cut sections. You could do the same with oak, maple, or fruit trees. I used 1in and 1.25in diameter spade bits to drill the caves. I am considering a redue and will drill .75 and 1in caves.

I have three L-128 and one L200. They both love zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, bell-peppers for fruit/veg. I also feed Kelp wafers, carnivore pellets, bug bites, and repashy (Igapo Explorer and Bottom Scratcher).

Maybe try varying the diet and use some repashy foods if you don't already. My young are between 3-4 inches total length and are about 2 years old. Their staple diet is repashy fruit luups, with some bottom scratcher mixed with soilent green.
Hope this helps.

Papaya is quite soft, right? I feel that the softer the food, the better they like it.

It would seem to me that the majority of fruits that fish might eat need to end up in the water rather than the fish going after them "on the vine." I think that for the most part these are fairly ripe fruits that fall off on their own. Most of the best fruits probably get eaten by animals before ...

However they really like the Fruut Luups Repashy formula, that's always gone in the morning.
There must be fruit falling into the rivers they inhabit, so I assume it would form part of their natural diet.
