@RichardB will probably know whether or not I am correct with this.
I do not doubt though that they can be spawned, it is just a matter of making sure you have actual Synodontis petricola

If I remember correctly the spawnings of true petricola that Richard B mentions is the only "for sure" spawning of petricola that we know of, at least no one has stepped up with positively ID'd fish that have been spawned.

Lucipinnis are pretty easy and lot's of info exists on this. (Petricola are a little bit harder and if you know a breeder they often turn out to be ... knowledge and mine are certainly not playing ball!!!
