Re: help to id a non-catfish
Thanks for your replies! I have looked on the images of those Tetragonopterus species and they don't look like mine tetras. Color and eye size (?) are different. Originally I was thinking on some species of Moenkhausia but couldn't find a match. Now I am thinking that it might be a species of Astyan...

help to id a non-catfish
Hi! Today is not a catfish related question, if possible. A week ago I obtained a group of nice characins and was wondering on their identity. They fairly large, around 6-7 cm. No details on origin. I would appreciate if anyone from catfish community could help to id them or refer to the resource wh...

Species? Pimelodidae?
Hi all! Saw this fish for sale in online store. Looks interesting but have no clue on species (honestly is not sure on family either: Pimelodidae? or maybe Bagridae). Was wondering what it is and how big it'll get. I would appreciate any help of experts!!! Cheers, DM. https://i1.wp.com/exoticfishsho...

Ompok or Micronema or Kryptopterus
Would my specimens be Ompok rhadnurus too? I guess these came from Thailand since they were sold as Thailand false glass catfish. Thanks, DM P.S. Could they be Micronema species or Kryptopterus species? Is there any id key to the genera of Siluridae? I would appreciate a reference or a copy. P.P.S. ...

Pseudeutropius? and Kryptopterus?
Just bought these cats as "striped glass catfish". One I think is a species of Pseudeutropius, second, I guess, is Kryptopterus. I think Kryptopterus came as contaminant with ?Pseudeutropius. I have K. macrocephalus and this doesn't look like them. I would greatly appreciate expert opinion...

Thanks for your reply! Yes, it's eating bloodworms. I have only one unfortunately. Actually I was expecting to have a bigger fish but received this tiny guy... Luckily it has adapted and eating well.

Parailia occidentalis?
I recently have decided to add some more Parailia to my remaining P. pellucida (picture 1). The new Parailia (picture 2) appeared to be different to me. I was guessing that maybe they are not P. pellucida but P. occidentalis. I would appreciate any opinion. DM.

species of Rineloricaria?
Have these 2 different loricariids for a while. I suspect their identification to a species level would be impossible but any ideas would be very much appreciated. I consider them as Rineloracaria but I may totally be wrong... would appreciate ideas on generic identity too. Thanks, DM

Hard to be exact. I would say 3-4 years they did not change much in length, maybe became a bit more robust.
