Re: Some shipping help please
Hey, it was pure oxygen and the bags were about 4 to 5 litres, yes. I didnt do a measuring about this. The fish were between 7 and 9 cm. Much longer than your S. barbatus . I wouldn´t have any doubts to put 5 S. barbatus in a bag of 2 litres or more. How many do you have to ship? It is as well a que...

Re: Some shippinhttp://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/g help pl
Hi, I just had a group of Pimelodus tetramerus to transport, for about 30 hours. One and a half litre of aquarium water, and the rest of the bag (about two third) filled up with oxygen. I didnt have any problems. I didnt even had a styro box for the last 12 hours, but I put them into a shirt of mine.

Re: NEW CATFISH. ID PLEASE...
Hi, it looks to me like Cochliodon ( Hypostomus ) sp. "Bolivia" also known as sp. "Río Mamoré". I caught this species in a lot of rivers in Bolivia. Staeck reported it from the Río Paraguay and it seems to be widely distributed. But there are a lot of similar looking species in t...

Hi,
the second one about 12cm, and the third one didn´t get the 30cm mark, but very close to it. Why are you asking?

Re: C. eques keeping and breeding
As I said before, I would not keep them higher than 25 or 26 °C.
30 °C is even to high for the real ones! Keep the 25 °C and you are on a good way, I guess.

Re: Pseudacanthicus
Hi, I don´t think they are L 114, they look more like Pseudacanthicus leopardus to me, due to the very small spots on the head. But the caudal fin is kind of irritating me, cause of the orange part. Bigger pics might help. I agree, that first one is a male, and last one looks like it could be a fema...

Re: C. eques keeping and breeding
Hi, if they are supposed to come from Brazil, and your friend doesn´t have problems keeping them at higher temperatures, I would keep them at 25 °C. But not higher than this. I dont know if there are some special characteristics to differentiate between them. But I don´t think so, because than we wo...

Hi,
the adult size of Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus is about 50cm, not 30cm. I have kept and seen several specimens in this, or a comparable, size. And a "few years old" one should really be larger than this one is actually. Furthermore this species is one of the fast growing ones.

Re: C. eques keeping and breeding
At first it is important to know where they are from. Is it the real C. eques from Brazil or C . cf. eques /CW043 from Peru? Last one should be kept by 20 - 22 °C, first one warmer, up to 26 °C. Both are usually sold as C. eques , but in most cases they are actually CW043. All in all a pretty easy s...

Re: Pleco id please
Hi,
if the pleco is some years old and still not bigger than 14-16cm, it is growing very, very bad! Maybe you should change some parameters or the tank. If those plecos are growing normally they can grow up to 30cm during one year.

Hi,
it looks like L 333, but difficult to tell exactly. L 333 is very fluctuating. But the other ones look more like L 66 to me, due to the longer body and the more notched caudal fin.

Hi,
What size does your tank have? Any other fish, living near the ground?
this would be Brochis, for example Brochis splendens:Bartos wrote:In fact i am looking for a catfish like a corydoras but bigger

Hi,
@Yann: Allright, it´s no problem at all. He got my permission to use most of my pics. Without him I wouldn´t have been able to get 90% of all the fish I caught.
@Viktor: Yeah, why not. If somebody who can add it, is reading here as well and wants to use it, just take it.

Re: L200-Green Phantom Advice needed
Hi, Will the fish be fine in this water? Yes. Also, are they old enough to be sexed and if so, what do I look for? I think it will be difficult at that size, but possibly yes. The male has a wider head than the female and is not as plump as a sexually mature female is. At this size is it possible th...

Hi, i don´t really understand why you think "that this web site will exploit them and kill off the remaining members" of the blue eyed pleco. The text sounds a bit dramatic to me, maybe to make the fish more interesting and justify the price. It is right, that there haven´t been imports fo...

Re: Peckoltia sp. "zwerg" - adult size?
Hi,
Peckoltia sp. "Zwerg" can reach a size between 8-10cm. For sure not only 5cm, those ones aren´t fully grown up. Care is pretty much the same as L 38.
There are some pics of eggs, fries and juveniles here.
