Re: 200 Liter Catfish Tank Setup
Paleatus tend to like 15-25 degrees, so I don't think they'd go well in this tank.

The reason I could rule out coriaceus is because it is the only species of trachelyopterus to lack an adipose fin, which these fish clearly have.

Re: Amaralia hypsiura stocking...
Okay. Until now, I've never seen a coracoideus larger than 4 inches. However, the one time i've seen a hypisura it was nearly 6 inches long. Of course, that is just an estimate, as it was curled up. It could've been shorter. I guess I've been corrected.

Re: Amaralia hypsiura stocking...
Amiidae has had them as well. If it were me, I'd have 3 in that size tank. They are a bit bigger and much thicker than normal coracoideus, as you probably know. In nature they eat a large amount of fish eggs, so they might like pellets because of the round shape. Amiidae's 2 amaralia went crazy for ...

Re: Amaralia hypsiuru (2 rayed banjo catfish) Canada only!
Try to get in touch with Oliver Lucanus (below water), if anyone in canada could get them, it'd probably be him.
https://www.facebook.com/oliver.lucanus
He's a wholesaler, but if you could get a local store to order from him you could ask about amaralia.

I know a guy in the US who got two in… but that doesn't really help you.
If you know stores that import directly, ask if there's a "banjo boa" on the list. That is amaralia.

Don't worry, i'll post pictures.
I've never been able to get woodcats, and now suddenly I have too many to get! Gyrina, s. acsi, intermedia, the unknown "brunnea", the unknown "dunni", "neivai", and otorongos! It doesn't help that I am terrible at making decisions...

Re: tatia ID?
Yes… I will be very cautious this time. I might remove all the driftwood temporarily, and put varying lengths and widths of PVC pipes in the tank, along with clay hideouts, so I can observe them for the first couple of weeks. Is this a good idea?

I've not seen the larger helogenes in 3 days… thinking it may be dead as well. Used to see it on a daily basis. None of the denticetopsis are sick. And they all appear to eat well. Looks like the ich is starting to give up.

Re: Is this ich?
The denticetopsis, especially the bigger ones (the ones in the video) eat very well. I've not seen the helogenes today… but the last time I saw it it did eat. The smaller denticetopsis eat what gets past the big ones.

Re: Is this ich?
Unfortunately the ich hasn't left. Still on the last tetra, and 2 spots on the ill helogenes. Been using the rid ich… I'll start salt. The smaller of the two helogenes is the ill one… so it could be fighting that gave the ich a way in.

Re: Is this ich?
1 Neon tetra (used to be 7), 2 helogenes marmoratus (one is not doing so well), and some denticetopsis (Ordered 5… I consistently see 3-4 at night… sneaky little buggers). The denticetopsis are by far the most resilient.

Re: Scottish government is one step closer to "positive" species list
Unfortunately the responsible aquarists (us) are always going to be lumped in with idiots like the people who released snakeheads in the US. Which leads to situations like this, where "all exotic pets should be banned because they always get released". If they want to do something like thi...
