Don't worry, this is clearly no S longirostris ;)
My vision is that this could very well be a S ocellifer

Parauchenoglanis sp.?
Any idea what species this is? They are from a friend of mine who bought them as Notoglanidium macrostoma, but I had my doubts (which I also placed on my Catfish from West and Central Africa page on Facebook) A few people (including myself) strongly think it's a Parauchenoglanis sp., perhaps P gutta...

Re: Chrysichthys cf. nigrodigitatus
I am wondering, is it possible to add a third catfish species in my tank Please take in account that I will add a group of 15-20 Alestidae (most likely Brycinus longipinnis or Phenacogrammus interruptus)in the nearby future. The Pelvicachromis are possibly leaving the tank Species that attract me ar...

Re: Chrysichthys cf. nigrodigitatus
Maintenance isn't very high
My pump blows enough water to transport possible dirt to my biological filter under the tank
Only real maintenance is cleaning the window and changing water ;)
Oh and thanks again for the compliment

Thanks a lot b-) The only Chrysichthys that is available on 'regular basis' here is Chrysichthys ornatus. My fish came to me, via some befriended aqua-freaks, from a shipment of Oliver Frank Here a are 2 full tank shots(163x124x080, netto 1500 liters) Front http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac1/tij...

West Africa (163x124x080)
Hi there, I currently have Tanganyika species in my largest tank (162x124x080) and after 20 years of keeping Tanganyikans, I'm planning something else: West Africa! b-) My idea is to make it a tank based around a large group of Phenacogrammus interruptus (20 - 30) It's very likely that I will have 5...

Thanks for the input Trent. Their body, mouth, etc is very similair to the fish in this topic http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26993 The only difference in length is that my fish are around 7 - 8 cm and the ones in that topic were 15 cm. The colours of my fish, meaning the...

Re: ID please?
Most fish in the picture are, as mentioned, S lucipinnis ;)
But there's one bigger, with different markings, bigger/wider mouth, orange teeth.
And I've put one in a close up picture, hoping to show it better.
They are physically very different from my 18 S lucipinnis

Not really,
last friday the ball opened up and some eggs fell out.
The loose membrane is still under her belly and she's full of eggs that she's still carying.
She seems to function normally

Re: S. lucipinnis combined with....
Oh no, sorry, there's a few Tanganyika cichlids in there aswell ;)
But the multi's are going to move to a tank of their own, but there will, most likely, be a couple of L. meleagris in the large tank to replace them ;)
