MyC. coecutiens never bothered other fish. My impression is they take advantage of large wounded fish taking the opportunity to borrow into the wound. In An Atlas of Freshwater and Marine Catfishes there is a paragraph on pg. 290 and a pic, Plate 154, pg.636.

With few exceptions, I don't keep any fish that aren't wild caught. Where do you think most catfish come from?

Archangels specimens pictured appear not to have barbels. Will this be a problem in his attempt to spawn them?

Hi all!
Have you seen the the pics of Bunocephalus verrucosus in the Cat-e-log? The last 5 pics are a fish in the process of shedding. At the time I didn't know what was happening until Jools enlightened me. Sorry, I don't know how to do a direct link

I finally sat down long enough to look for a possible ID. It seems it might be Loricaria simillima. I only have the one pic that I took of the fish before seeing the eggs and then the eggs became the first priority! There are three large specimens that are in a 55g full of fancy goldfish at an out o...

Loricaria simillima(?)

I have a clutch of eggs that I brought home today from this fish. You can see some eggs if you look close. There are 6 hatched fry (6hrs since I've been home) I think I've set them up as good as possible, but any comments would be welcome. <IMG SRC="http://eheim-uk.com/albums2/Dave/40_G.sized.j...

One I heard from a wholesaler was they could even be found in ponds/streams with lots of road/parking lot run-off, hence oil cats!!!?? He said they were a very common fish. My thoughts at the time were if they were so common why were they so expensive! Maybe Shane will have a thought.
