Thanks Dave. I included the link to WetSpot's Aquabid page, but I failed to include their direct link.

If you'll accept small juveniles, you can buy them from WetSpot Tropical Fish in Portland, Oregon: http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/ ... 1456343340

Re: Can anybody ID this plant please?

Hi All, Yes, after getting the name bladderwort I came to the same conclusion (at least to genus, :-)). I suppose the only downside to it in an aquarium is that it would consume some of microscopic organisms that would be good infusoria for juveniles. Otherwise, it seems harmless enough. Thanks ever...

Yes I think you're right. If I google bladderwort aquarium, I see photos of it.

Hi Teresa,

The parents can safely be kept with the babies. No need to rehome either. I fed my babies what I fed the parents.

Can anybody ID this plant please?

Hi All, I have a fine stringy plant growing among my Java moss. It looks like a fine pale green string, branched along its length, with small pale green balls on its side branches. I don't know if the balls are reproductive structures (that's what I think they are) or leaves. Can anyone ID it for me...

Re: Moss

I agree with all of the above. I keep a huge mass of java moss (and some stringy plant that I don't recognize) in my baby bristlenose tank. They don't eat it, but they hide in it, and I figure it helps (but only a little) with water quality.

Re: This time ABNs definitely have spawned:)

Your plan sounds okay - check the "tank" for expelled eggs. Of course it's okay to peek in to tube from time to time, but there is risk to that. If you stress the dad he might eject his eggs from the cave. But just looking around the tank is obviously less invasive than looking straight in...

Belive it or not, I think the best approach is to not intrude, leave dad in peace.

The 3-cave textured wall unit is being put to good use: Both a mustard spot and one of my un-ID'd Hypans have simultaneously taken up residence. Now if my mustard spots would just get around to some hanky-panky.

:)) ... Now I'm scrambling my brain to think of another vegetable - music band name pun to keep this going. But then, that'd drag me away from the intended post, so it's just as well that I don't have a reply for now. Back to pleco diets and these black eyed peas as a food option. LOL

Re: Foods for weird and wonderful (and I'm just strange) plecos!

Has anyone fed edamame beans (in hull or dehulled) to their plecos? Do the plecos like them? Another bean question: Has anybody tried black-eyed peas (BEPs; also called black-eyed beans)? I bought some frozen BEPs and boiled them for 20 min, then dropped them in my ABN tanks. I pinched the BEPs fir...

Re: Synos for sale or trade.

I am looking at the two side-view pictures; there appears to be a narrow small spine at the tip of the genital papilla. I'm guessing that it is this feature which is leading Birger and you to the deduction that this fish is probably male. I'd be happy to bag it up and bring it with me to the SAS mee...

Re: Synos for sale or trade.

I suspect this to be a male. Really? Dang... I've never tried sexing a syno before, and I didn't want to risk hurting it or getting stuck by its spines. I was hoping that the rotund belly meant it is a female. If you're correct, then I guess this won't be what @naturalart wants. Fortunately, he and...

If you discover a Cory that routinely eats snails, I buying them! I'd really like an alternative form of snail control (besides me picking them out and squishing them), without resorting to chemicals. But, alas, I suspect your observation may be nothing more than an incidental event and not a habit ...

You know, day-to-day I never see this cat. Wasn't even sure it was still alive until I caught it today in a cave. But now that I see it, it sure is pretty. Re: Synos for sale or trade.

I've got one lonely adult Synodontis nigriventris that I suspect is female, but I don't know. Paid $10 for it as a 3cm juvie from PetSmart, about 4 years ago. Now approximately 7-8cm SL and as plump as can be, maybe 9-10cm TL. Here's some pics taken today. I'm not looking to trade for more synos or ...
