Thanks a lot for your true concern.
I’m working on a new Green wall and suspended plants to « pump » NO3 out, as I had during the first years
And of course a more efficient WC routine, with a better water move on the surface

Re: building a "big" Potamotrygon/SA Catfishes tank
4th day without another death... I guess we're out of stormy weather yet. but what a hard way to (re)learn the lesson ! the worst loss is of course my big mama Moon (Osteoglossum of +8 years old) but I'm quite angry with the loss of 2 (on 4) of my Panaque schaeferi... quite a mess in this tank for t...

Re: building a "big" Potamotrygon/SA Catfishes tank
it seems I released NH3 while cleaning the deep bottom of my inner filter. Then Oxygen fell at its lower level, causing massive bacteria's death and a vicious circle of lack of Oxygen + NH3, NO2 and such problems. Even my 40% Water change wasn't enough... this morning, after finding the 2 dead Panaq...

Re: building a "big" Potamotrygon/SA Catfishes tank
nope... tap water is not in cause. I have a very good contact with the boss of water service in my area, he's fish hobbyist too and a total fan of my installation. We wrote the guidelines for cleaning of tanks together a few years ago. It's all with UV from 5 years, now. I called him yesterday morni...

Re: Babies Acanthicus adonis fighting
in the inner pond, I never noticed any agression/territoriality problem amont the 3 sub-adults (8 years old). But those tiny beasts strike each other in (proportionally) a much bigger tank. And it's not a problem of hiding and rest places : there are plenty of them... the 3rd one is absolutely calm ...

Babies Acanthicus adonis fighting
Hi there, Last Saturday, I found in a very good shop of Switzerland (one of the last) a whole stock of Acanthicus adonis fry... I couldn't help but take 3 of them, a tiny bit more than 1 inch, to let them grow in my living room tank. For the next few years, they'll do fine in it (180x40x40 cm, in Xi...

Edit of my 1st entry. There was an error, I had put a adonis picture under the hystrix chapter. And put exactly the same picture in the adonis chapter. solved. for Panaque schaeferi , the only information I have is from youngsters, as they did match quite perfectly the pictures I had as references. ...

Switzerland : for Sale : 7 Panaque sp L191 mature and adults
Hi you there, because my other fish and especially L-numbers get very big (Acanthicus, Panaque schaeferi) in the inner pond, I'm looking for someone who could be interested in placing an offer for my 7 Panaque sp L191. They are 7 years old, mature, and between 25 cm and 40 cm TL, depending on the su...

I realize I didn't give an answer on sexing them. As you may know, Stephen Huang showed me a few pictures and tricks. Even if admitted that both male and female develop interopercular odontodes, I'm pretty sure that fish 3 is a male. Stephen showed me a picture of his L27 pair next to eachother. Mal...

Re: Panaque sp L191 : let's go for a spawning tentative
hi you all... Today, I replaced the Panaque into the big tank (together with the P. schaeferi, Acanthicus, Osteoglossum, Cichlas, and so on)... mainly for 3 reasons : 1. After 6 months of non-stop efforts in water changes, feeding, parameters, roots, and so on, nothing happened, except the growing r...
