Re: Mystus bimaculatus
I picked up a male and two females around 10 days ago. These are one of my favorite small bagrids. I would have missed them entirely if it was not for Neil pointing them out to me as they were in the top tanks. Yes they do hide away a bit but once settled in they will always come out for food, nice ...

Probably its dinner. These catfish can and regularly predate on fish that are larger than themselves and their stomach stretches to accommodate such meals.this is a female? with eggs? or they've sprouted allready?

I too have kept these, but, sadly it has been a while since I last found any for sale in my area. The foods that I fed them on were: Live & frozen bloodworm's, live & frozen adult brine shrimps and earth worms other than those they didn't seem to be interested in commercial foods such as fla...

Hello and welcome to PCF. Is the pattern of distribution of the substrate in your tank just down to the activity of the goonches? The reason why I am asking (and I know that this tank is just a holding tank until your 50 is ready for them) is that I can not tell from your photographs if you are usin...

Re: Help please!
It looks like it may be Hemibagrus wyckioides . But, at that size which bagrid your catfish actually is, it is a tad hard to nail down. I think it maybe a case of letting your fish settle into its aquarium, letting it put on more growth (which may not take long) and then getting a more complete phot...

HI Steve,
I some of these a few years back. They are very active and seem to like plenty of water movement. I had mine for about 12 months and then I started to lose them, water chemistry was fine, so maybe they are a short lived species; dunno .
Nice catfish though.

Re: please help me some questions
Get away with you, these are fish that need really good water quality, water management would be really difficult on a tank that size. I don't think 9 litres volume is really enough water volume for any fish, other than possibly a pair of Oryzias latipes or some Red Cherry Shrimps? Sorry, Darrel I ...

Try changing the substrate from gravel to sand as these like to lay partially or completely submerged in the substrate.but the tank they are being kept in isn't great shape for them

I have a female C napoensis that I have had for over 12 years now. It was a 'rescued' fish from a tank someone was throwing out, although her maxillary barbels were nothing more than stumps and she had ventral fins that had not grow back very well from an infection or such, I didnt think it was righ...

Re: Best Corydoras Foods
What food to feed has always been a moot point. I feed my Corydoradinae species a varied diet, of flake tablet, pelleted, frozen and live foods. but, it all comes down to personal preference. On the commercial dried feeds I know guys in other parts of the UK prefer Tetra products and others Aquarian...

I was fortunate a few years ago to be given some N stellatus that had come into a LFS as a surprise mixed in with some small Batasio. I managed to keep them alive for over 18 months. They were quite active whilst feeding otherwise they hid away amongst the tank decor. Nice fish and one that I wish w...

HI Roland
I have not heard of anyone spawning Brochis Britski.
Although Brochis splendens has been bred by a few people. I don't know if this may go someway to help in your identification but young Brochis splendens have a sail-like dorsal fin, which diminishes as the fry grow.

Microsynodontis spawning.
Hi all. I have tried spawning my pair of Microsynodontis on two occasions now, the first time I got eggs but in my haste I disturbed everything and the eegs were soon consumed. 10 days ago I tried again and I thought that they had spawned, only this time I left the tank well alone. I went away for a...
