I want to add about 50 small cyprinids, a Boraras species, to my 55 gallon tank. In this same tank are two Synodontis nigriventis , which are not full grown. The largest is 75 mm SL. My question is, do you think the synos will eat the boraras? Not "can they" eat them but is it very likely ...

The appearance of the smaller syno seems exaggerated to me, so maybe it was the camera angle. Thanks, Eric. That was a pretty good thread. "The Dark One" has helped me in the past with other banjo catfish and their relatives. Unfortunately, I didn't check the posterior processes of the coracoids before I released the fish into the tank; I knew about them from a previous discussion ...

The fish belongs to a friend in my fish club. He got it from a pet store when it was very small, less than 2", and the deformity came about slowly over time.

Thanks. I got them from a local auction, JRAS, as verbal says. The fish were too pale last night to determine the species by eye alone. Today, after a night in the aquarium, they look more like the catelog photos of A. spilotus.

If you don't know if they came in from Peru or Bresil (Belém) you cannot be absolutely sure. Will post here ...
