There are gold spotted commons, but they're not a stripy fish AFAIK.
I wouldn't put much trust in a stock list that lists assassin snails under the heading 'Amphibians'...

That's interesting as I find exactly the same. I usually get organic courgette and they go for the skin first. However much I wash the non-organic, they don't eat the skin. I often microwave in a little tank water for half a minute, but if I go away for a weekend I'll leave it uncooked so it doesn't...

I've heard that it's always better to defrost frozen food before adding to the tank. Fish aren't good at feeling temperature, so they can end up eating the food while it's still frozen which is harmful to their insides and can even kill them.

Food wise, I would agree with the above. My blue phantom loves courgette (aka zucchini) and always eats the green skin first, though he also eats the whole lot within 48 hours. Also red bell peppers get eaten completely leaving only the outer skin. He's also keen on pleco pellets but the other fish ...

Keep them on smooth sand not gravel. Treat with Melafix. Keep a close eye for spreading bacterial infection. If all is well they should re-grow
