Re: Anyone been stung by a venomous catfish?

Ive been stung by Synodontis nigriventris , Synodontis eupterus , Corydoras sp and my brother was very severely by a Ariopsis felis . The Corydoras was more like a thumbtack, not really sure if I would call it a sting. The Synodontis got me good while I was transferring a few into a styro, very unpl...

Re: The Loricaria files

Thanks guys! I have considered floating plants but if I leave enough room for floating plants under the lid it sounds like I'm sleeping beside white river rapids :( I think I'll just try and build a wall ( a very stable wall) of stone so they can escape my gaze if they so please and I think I will t...

The Loricaria files

Hello everyone! With my past luck I decided to withhold the news of these fishes arrival until I felt confident that they where safe and established and after 5 days I feel awfully confident that they will proceed to do well. Anyway I got a group of 6 Loricaria sp`rio_atabapo` and they are awesome, ...

Pictorial update! Well I guess I like pet rocks because I picked up two more of these guys... I also purchased a Fluval prism light so I can cast red and blue light to observe nocturnal behaviours. Based off of size alone it looks like 2 males and 2 females :YMHUG: http://i1320.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Bio-Load question

Why not remove the rummy nose and use ammonia to do a fishless cycle and jump start it with media from another tank? Then you can get it kickstarted and don't have to worry about livestock. Do you want to catch 25 military grade torpedoes =)) Honestly that sounds like a great idea but I don't know ...

Thanks guys! I might have access to safe start but I already have seachem stability handy, would this suffice? Bio-Load question

Hello everyone! Alright so finally the chance has arisen to get my hands on some nice cats again. How many years are in between 60 and death in your head? I'm 18 so I can't talk from personal experience but lets look at the facts... The average lifespan for an American male (as of 2012) is 78.74 and it only ever goes up because of health care advancements regularly occurring so two tank at the a...

I figured it might be a little while before I get a response as both these species have very few keepers and very little info on them. a search of PC for data on Ossancora punctata only brought up people selling them and the Cat-elog page.

O.punctata and T.musiaca?

Hello everyone! Well my 55 gallon tank has had some life in sonce the demise of the Hemiancistrus subviridus group. At a rate of 5 black phantoms a week I have currently built up a population of 15 of the little characins (who I do enjoy) and plan on topping the school off at 25-30. After a week or ...
