Boraras are fun to keep indeed! I've kept merah, maculatus and brigittae, the latter being the most beautiful by far.
keep em warm, 26 degrees Celsius is best, when temp drops they are sensitive to ich... very inquisitive little fish that like to 'bite' your hand when doing water changes

Hi Rob,
I would say this is due to the colour of the eyes and the small spots on the body.

Re: New cafishes from the Rio Taruma, ID if possible.
Hi! nice fish first of all! b-) first one is Corydoras trilineatus (julii doesn't have the black line on the sides) second one, i think it is Batrochoglanis raninus or something closely related. the rest of the Corydoras are probably Corydoras aeneus I don't dare to say anything about the Heptapteri...

Wow, thanks all! And for the Parotocinclus maculicauda , my specimen has those same red dots on its tail.. but I don't see the same longitudinal band on those from Cat-elog! Well, I assume it is really a Parotocinclus maculicauda due to the correct distribution! that's because your fish is probably...

Re: anyone have panchax?
nice choice of fish!! i very recently purchased a group of A. lineatus, consisting of three males and three females. I would highly recommend the normal, natural version in stead of the man made yellow form. Behavior is fantastic. they stalk prey as true pikes, standing between floating plants, stri...

Re: Plecos with Hoplos?
I think you can still target feed the L201 by providing large chunks of veggie, shrimp and fish filet. these chunks will be far to large for the hoplo's to swallow whole.

Re: Loricariidae recommendations with Rays?
I think adding a pleco to a ray tank is always risky! especially the more spiny types like Pseudacanthicus. when i rehoused my 30+ cm Pterygoplichthys pardalis into someone else his tank which contained two very large Cichla's, the Cichla's died very soon and were replaced by 3 small leopoldi rays. ...

Hi and welcome back! :d I have no experience with these, but i would treat them as Lamontichthys species. high current, high DO, no boisterous tankmates (i.e. Panaque) just some small fish as dithers, the Hyphessobrycons would do I think! Furthermore, I don't think altums would appreciate such stron...

It looks like some sort of Ancistrus to me. it has the white tips at the end of the caudal and dorsal which are characteristics for many species in this genus.

I too think it is L211! this one certainly is not L265. these have a more orange, rusty color on the dorsal and caudal and they also have a small black dot on every bone plate. your fish does not show any of these characteristics. Your fish is definitely in the group of Peckoltia species closely rel...
