Re: what was the highlight of CatCon for you?
I think Barbie and TTA have a good idea. The speaker lineup is incredible and I hope it stays that way, but I think the Convention could be improved by adding a series of other talks, and/or round-table discussions. I went to the National Aquarium on Thursday and spent most of the day Friday lookin...

Re: Keep the Date
True, but we have to start somewhere. For the first year we are hoping to draw in a large enough crowd that we can start building towards what the Potomac Aquarium Society has done. We did an event in the same hotel we are using this year about 4 or 5 years ago. Had a decent draw for our first event...

Depends on how much per fish, and minimum order, and how much to ship. Additional considerations, do you have a track record with the importer, and do you have collection point information.

Re: Spawning C. pygmaeous, Need help please
Somewhere on here someone mentioned leaving the eggs/fry with the parents, and adding RCS to the tank. I have a group of C pygmaeous I am going to be setting up in a ten, I was wondering if I could toss rainbow mops in with then and expect them to leave the rainbow eggs alone as well?

Re: STUPID question/theory
I was actually teasing ;). I own an LFS and I get quite a bit of heat because I do not let people take home incompatible species. It frustrates people that want to be free to make their own mistakes, but is appreciated by enough that I can keep my doors open. If you find an LFS like that, stay with...

Egg predation
I am wondering what everyone's take on this is. I have several groups of corries that will leave their eggs alone, while from talking with other hobbyists egg predation is a huge problem for them. Is egg predation in Corydoras a learned behavior, especially in our tanks. IE. If the fish in a group a...

Re: Corydoras Paleatus and Sterbai
With both heated and unheated tanks they start warming back up immediately. With the unheated tanks, room temp slowly raises the temp back up. With the heated tanks, I leave the heater on when I do cool water changes.

My corry tanks are mostly unheated. At 25.4 celsius you are running warmer then I keep mine, My tank tempature for C paleatus, were between 20 and 22 degrees celsius. The exception would be my Coridorus sterbai which I kept at 28 degrees. For the tanks at room temp I left the room temp warm them bac...
