Asking for a peer from MFK. The peer bought two 20" bacu. One is a normal-looking granulosus, the other is this strange-looking one.

It looks like P. granulosus with a broken spine to me (like what you see in a balloon paroon etc). The humeral process looks right. What did bother me is a passing resemblance to but the eyes, colouration isn't right and it's probably my inexperience with these fishes shining through! So, "balloon bacu" for me.
BTW, Bacu roughly means large doradid, it's not species-specific.
