Trichomycterus hatoensis, new species from Colombia

Post by bekateen »

One more article from this prolific author in Colombia. The author usually uploads his papers at the Researchgate.net website, but as of today, this paper is not listed. I found the citation for this paper among the updates to Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes. https://researcharchive.calacademy.org/ ... p?id=42104

Ardila Rodríguez, C. A. 2025 (3 Apr.). sp. nov. (Siluriformes: Trichomycteridae) una nueva especie de pez, de la parte baja de la cuenca del río Suárez, departamento de Santander – Colombia. Barranquilla, Departamento del Atlántico No. 101: 1-20. [In Spanish, English abstract.]

Many Trichomycterus species havebeen described recently, but none have been exported.

If I look at the articles, I get the imperssion they would mak wonderful tankfish. I once heard they behave most similar to loaches, a group of fishes I do enjoy.

But, trade does not comply. What a pity
