ghoti is pronounced as fish. Here is why.

When you want no more, you have had enough. Clearly gh is pronounced as F.

If you have read the book, Little Women, you can see how o is pronounced as I - (Phonetically "wimin.")

And then there is that ti. In words like nation or motion, ti is pronounced SH.

Clearly, those wonderful aquatic animals we all keep are ghoti which means we are all ghoti keepers.......
