Re: Aquatic-Discoveries: Expedition Suriname 2011
We found this species olmost in every body of water up to the point where I was like "Go away you damn guppy and show me some other cichlids!" Their colour varied allot, including the pattern on the side. Some only had a small dot whilst others had a complete stripe (and everything in between).

Re: Aquatic-Discoveries: Expedition Suriname 2011
Thank you, I really like making these vids. The corys in the first video are C. boesemani and C. punctatus in the second video. At the first creek we found a mix of boesemani (80%) and punctatus (20%) and in the second creek we found only punctatus.
These were the only two cory species we found in this part of the river. I did however see a plump, C. aneus like species at our first lodge (Tang Luku). I don't have this one on film nor did I catch any so I can't be absolutely sure. C. aneus however, is present in the river. There is a report on this site from a German that caught some in his search for C. boesemani.

Re: Aquatic-Discoveries: Expedition Suriname 2011
The site has been updated today. I also created a Facebook page for updates. The complete fish list can be found in the report, in total we caught 65 species including two possible new species (Parotocinclus sp. and a Bryconops sp.). If some of you plan on visiting the Vivarium 2012 Fair in Holland let me know, I will be there with the book that I made about this expedition.

Re: Aquatic-Discoveries: Suriname Expeditions
The Dutch version of the 2012 expedition is now online: http://www.aquatic-discoveries.nl/2012.html
I will now start working on the English (and possible German) translation of this report and after that I will start to edit the videos. Translation volunteers are welcome, 24 hours per day is not enough.

@ Pleco:
Willem Kolvoort was one of the expedition members, he took some incredible udnerwater images. You can visit his page here: http://www.kolvoortonderwaterfoto.nl/nl ... namerivier It's in Dutch but the pictures speak for themself.

Finished a new video today. This time we are taking you to the Awadan and Peti rapids in the Gran Rio river, Suriname. Both of these rapids are home to large ammounts of catfishes. The website also had a makeover, be sure to check it out and leave some feedback: http://www.aquatic-discoveries.nl

Re: Aquatic-Discoveries: Suriname Expeditions
Great video. I like the in the fast current.
I like the Web site. One thing I would reconsider though, is using a 724MB video as a background image. It took ages to load, and then made the CPU go crazy. Better off without it, I think. The website also had a makeover, be sure to check it out and leave some feedback
