Mystus Gulio - Tank

Post by SiriusAng »

Hi!

Sorry my bad english, but i have four M. gulio and i need some help whit them..

Do you know what kind water they primary need..?
(How much salt and what kind..)

Can you suggest any "friends" whit them in 200cm x 55cm x 60 cm tank..?
I know that tank is too small for gulio, but they come from me in occurrance.
I can´t find new home for them, but i deside keep them today and buy a bigger tank in spring when my move is over.

Hopefully someone understand what i try to say. ;)

They are equally happy with fresh or brackish water. The tankmates will be dependent on which of the two setups you prefer.

Thank you so much Silurus! Nice to here if they are equally happy in freshwater. It´s easyer for me..
I had wrong image that they prefer brackish water. : )

If i deside keep them in brackish water. What is the "density of water" or "specific gravity"(?)-limit 1.000 to 1.0__ ? But i have to though this option more and try to search way more information different species. Unfortunately i don´t know any small brackish catfish, but example pipesfish, glassfish, Monodactylus argenteus and Etroplus maculatus seems quite interesting.

Anything below 1.030 is considered brackish. As for brackish water tankmates, other fish to consider (besides the ones you listed) are scats (Scatophagus argeus) or archerfish (Toxotes jaculator).
