snail problem

Post by du ma »

Hello everyone:

My bristlenose grow out tanks are over populated with snails. I am looking at this product called had a snail, has anyone used this? Is it effective? I googled here and there but didnt get any good results.

The product says that its not harmful to most fish, would it be harmful to the bristlenose fries at ~1" ?

I dont want to introduce loaches in my tanks either. Let me know if you have any recommendations that are effective against snails.

Thanks

I would not use a chemical treatment in a fry tank. You can either syphon out the snails as you see them, squash them to make food, or set snail traps (use a small plastic bottle with a food tablet inside) and just throw out the snails when there are a number of them in the bottle.
