Syno. Eupterus breeding

Has anyone tried or is anyone trying to breed the syno. Eupterus?

The only reference to breeding that I could find was this:

which claims that breeing is done using hormone injections in ponds in Florida (and probably other places like Czech republic, where breeding with hormones is done to create hybrids, so the non-hybrid breeding should be possible too].

There is of course no such thing as "can't be bred naturally in captivity". It's just a case of figuring out how to create the right circumstances for the fish. This may of course be difficult if there is little knowledge about the way the fish breed naturally - and I couldn't find much info at all about their natural reproduction.
