Can anyone tell me the difference in size between a male and female zebra when they reach adulthood. Are they about the same size? About how many inches would be the
average difference between the adult sexes?
I have visited these web sites already but I really wanted to hear it from breeders or even anyone who has handled and had experience with these fascinating creatures.
Would anyone who has kept the L46 give their personal experience on the adult size difference between males and females...?
Clayt has been handling this fish for quite some time. He has actual knowledge on these cats. He apparently works on these sites as well. Those sites shown also delve into actualy experiences and first hand knowledge. It would be very wise to try them out, most especially that german site that Clayt recommended.
But of course everyone is welcome to post. Anybody else willing to shed more light into El Loricadio's questions? Attention, other Zebra breeders?
My adult female is the same size as my adult males. (I'm nearly positive its a female). I find the easiest way to sex them (adults) is to go by the odontodes on the cheeks. This is easiest when there is an adult male around to compare them to. Juviniles I find to much more difficult. I try to go by the curvature of the pectoral fin as seen on the Japenese site cited above.
The reason I was wondering is because I have 4 zebras. Two of which I know for a fact are males...the other two are a little bit larger than half the size of the males...I am still not too sure what they are and that was the reason for my question. Hopefully, one will turn out to be a female.
If anyone else would like to post a response I would be very thankful...

I don't work on those sites, I've just done tons of internet searches for zebra plecos, L46, Hypancistrus zebra, etc. I am going to creat my own site soon. I've already created a pretty cool background for it
