Valuation

Post by heidi-house »

Hi,
I hope you can help me, I have, or had, a 6" L310 (sorry dont know his real name) and a 6" Royal. Unfortunately they have been poisoned by the dye from a batch of gravel I bought from my tank, which I have subsequently discovered has been recalled. The manufacturer has offered compensation but I don't know that replacement value of my fish.
Please could someone help.
Cheers Heidi

I don't know where in Surrey you are, but my recommendation would be that you find a local branch of for example Maidenhead Aquatics and ask them what their price is for the said fishes - the "value" is of course how much you have to pay for new ones, not how much you paid for them as smaller specimens some years ago.

L310's "real name" is .

Sorry for your losses. I can't help you with prices, as prices here would be different anyway.

But I would be interested in what gravel it was as I am sure others would be, in case we have it. If it has been recalled there should not be an issue naming the brand, better still if you have a link to the makers site regarding the recall.

I reckon you are looking at £60 for the Panaque and probably the same for the Hypo.
See here for the Panaque.

and I would try a PM to Niel in Peir aquatics.
Or if you want good money contact Wharf aquatics they are really friendly and they like to price stuff if you know what I mean.

One more bucket of water and the farce is complete.
