9 inch SYNO - ACANTHOMIAS - trade !

Post by syno-kev »

I Have a large synodontis acanthomias its about 9 inches and becoming a bit of a bully with the smaller cats so decided to get rid of him ,( sell or swap )
he was a wild caught fish at £25 from a LFS .i new i was taking a chance when i bought him but as you dont see many of these around i couldnt resist buying it .
had him in my 5 ft tank with the malawis who he doesnt bother at all but the smaller multipuncs and polli i have had to move into my nusery tank as they were getting a bit hollow bellied and not feeding due to his bullying,
all 3 are fine now without him around so if anyone fancies a large syno cat who can live with no other catfish please get in touch

I'd like to help but I already have two, and the larger one is nearly a foot long.

The big one is in with schalls, notatus and brachysynodontis, plus a big Hypostomus pleco. It's only aggressive when defending its cave, and mainly just makes warning noises.

The smaller one is in with nigriventris and a sailfin pleco. It is quite shy and mostly stays in its cave, except at feeding time. I've never seen it be aggressive. The trouble is that it's growing at a horrendous rate, and I need a bigger tank soon.

The fillies aren't for sale! :D
They have their own tank 'cos they're very peaceful and the other synos would probably murder them.
