Is it worth making this a sticky, or putting a link to Amazon somewhere prominent on the site? I've previously missed the link to Amazon in the books section whereas I could have gone through the site link if I'd known about it.

I think this is a good suggestion - any route to gain more funds is worthy of better promotion

I put the "Ordering From Amazon" as a sticky, and then removed this discussion from it (and removed the Xmas part, as that's only of importance for the next couple of weeks or so).

Thanks for your support guys, I am not very good about being forward when asking for cash! What I could perhaps do is look and see if I can post links into the sticky.

I made use of it the other evening, after my wife had spent £200 on Amazon without telling me!
I'll make sure I use the link from now on, but if you could sort out a link that embeds your ID (or however they do it), then I will make sure everyone (in my house, at least) uses that link going forward.

Well, that seems to do the trick, however I think I could do a bit more to save a clicck - watch this space!

I've gone the whole hog and pasted an article on the thing. Will update the sticky too.

I'm don't think so Birger but I am not certain, at present we only have associate IDs for .com or .co.uk only. No harm in trying it mind you but I wouldn't go out of your way.

I'm guessing if I bookmark the page this takes me to (as it contains all the IDs in the URL), that's the same thing? If so will set up all the PCs in my house to use the same one.
Actually, if you knock off the adid then that seems to work too (the banner is a revolving image), i'm just not sure if clicking the link is the best way?

I believe so - the adid at the end of the link, I believe, is the identifier that you need.

Thats what I thought, but it changes every time....I thought it was the 'tag=catfish' that was the main identifier, but don't know enough to be sure.

Can you confirm if this is possible or not? I'd be happy to pass the link to my friends and family as well if it were as easy as sending them a new link to amazon.

I just ordered a few things from Amazon - so it should pay for at least... 2 seconds worth of server time... Every little helps, as the supermarket chain says.
