I like the BAS/Pier option, never having been to either.
Richard, I've sent you a pm at synowatchuk; a follow-up to the Saturday trip.

Am definitely up for it, although would prefer either Northampton/Oxford or Northern M25, only because Pier is 220 miles from me and a bit of a hike for a day's outing!

Does anyone wanna suggest a specific date...
Do we wanna do a "north run" AS WELL as a northants/oxford trip to maximise the number of people who could attend?

Oxford can't compete with 'north of m25' in terms of variety of catfish seen!
(But on the plus side, I know how to find all of the four shops).

I mean the four Oxford ones: MA Wheatley, MH South Hinksey, the Goldfish Bowl and Shirley Aquatics. I haven't been to the Northants ones.

_Might_ be OK, but I'd say January would be better. Bear in mind I'm hoping to become a father for the first time in November...

Cheers for the offer - will let you know when the date is set.
As far as i can recall, there's always something good to look at at Pier
without any specific oddies, but was there something specific you had in mind?

Not to hijack the post, but yes I think it was really worth it. Despite me driving home with the car at 84F, the fish were quite cool when I finally get them settled in but I think they will be OK.

The best thing I saw at pier when I last went there was the big holpo, it's worth it to see just that, if it's still there, and the giant panaque.
Has anyone been to Wharf aquatics recently? The big adonis is something to see.

One more bucket of water and the farce is complete.

Gents,
I will be "down south" a couple of times mid week in January. 28th January looks like a possible date if anyone can make it? Suggest worth doing if we get a minimum of 3 others? Up for discussion though.
Cheers,

28th sounds plausible.
Whereabouts are you going "down south" - anywhere near where I live?

Well, Slough isn't that far from where I live - are you staying there overnight? If so, perhaps we can meet up for a chat? Or are you taking clients/colleagues out for dinner [or being taken out...].

Sorry, it was looking really good for a while there, but I need to be in Aberdeen now on the 28th. Otherwise i'd certainly have taken you up on the offer Mats.
I will post again as soon as I know a date when I will be, let's say, south of Birmingham.
Cheers,
