They are simular looking to L-173 as fry. The parents only look as good as the fry when I am changing water or grabbing caves. I'll get some pics of the parents in the next couple days.drpleco wrote:the bigger fry in there with the horizontal stripes looks close to an L173 - weird!

Your parent fish FantasticFins looks very close to one of the male Hypancistrus spp. I am currently keeping and the only one that survived through quarantine when I bought these fish 4 years ago.
It's funny to note that some of the fish in the Cat-eLog for do not seem to match the fish in the photos here nor here http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum/sh ... hp?t=54139.

They are a lot looking like my first hypancistrus sp. L333 that i bought 4 years ago.
Some of the fry´s are very similar to my youngsters that i got from several spawnings.
