Jet Black with gold flecks
The fish store has them labled as syno's, but I thought I remembered a thread on the jet black asian catfish with random gold flecks on the side. Does anyone know which I am talking about?

They grow fairly fast and get fairly big. If you have the room they are an awesome fish. I still remember when they were a US $750 each fish before commercial breeding started.

Extremely nasty temperament too. Had 2 of 'em and refused to share the same tank. In fact they were bickering since they were packed in a bag in the LFS. Truly upside down fish.
Keeping 1 at the moment. Got him at around 1.5 ". He s around 8 " TL at the moment. I have seen him him swallow feeder fish meant for his tankmates with ease. What you keeping 'em with????

I didn't get them, but I wanted to check if they would make good tankmates for datnoids. Thought it might be a cool cat to try with them.

Have never kept Datnoides. So not really in a position to comment. But from what I see, these cats not very aggressive towards other species. Only conspecifics.
