L2, L306, L398?

This fish:

was purchased with this fish:

The second fish is clearly a male and has been initially identified as L169/LDA01. It will not tolerate the presence of the other (slightly smaller) fish and its owner and I are now thinking it is also a male but of another species (it has quite spiny pectoral fin spines and quite long interopercular odontodes. It has a look of L2, L306, and even L398. Here is a poor picture of them both from above. The 'L169' on the left, which shows differences in the head markings. The 'L169' having some lines going between the eyes as well as from snout to supraoccipital

You can exclude L002 and L398, not sure if L306 is the same species as L169 just another locality/variant but it's very similar to L306.

Thanks Janne

I'd almost excluded L368 anyway due to body shape, but out of interest why do you think it is not an L002?

Thanks

I have never seen such nice L002 and I have seen many, your fish looks to be around 9-10cm adult and at this size L002 become more stubby, brownish like the below pic.

Even that your fish have such nice cheek odontodes the overall look, looks like an adult female.

Hi Janne
I think it is about 7.5cm TL. 'In life' it is a yellowish green colour, but when photographed it gets red tinges.
